About Mandy

Have held several different nanny and babysitting positions with infants and children of all ages up to 12. Responsibilities included directing and engaging in play activities, transportation of children to activities and school, helping with homework, light meal preparation, carrying through bedtime routines, potty training, changing, feeding and etc. if applicable and being a positive mentor and role model. Three years daycare/preschool experience. Worked part time as a teachers aide with infants up to school agers, then later as head teacher of the 3-year-old room. Created lesson plans, guided hands on activities, maintained developmental reports and frequent and open communication with patents and ensured safety and well being of all 10 children in the classroom. I have a BA Psychology and a partially completed MA in counseling. I've taken many courses that focused on child development and psychology so am familiar with the developmental needs of children at each stage of life. Overall I am fun, energetic, and hands on but also very responsible and can maintain structure to ensure the welfare and safety of the children with whom I work. I strive to understand the unique needs of each and every child and view every new child care experience as a learning process in how to best cater to the individual child.
