Hiya! I am a certified teacher with a passion for bridging gaps in instruction. I have four years of classroom experience and have been tutoring privately for an additional four years. I specialize in teaching K-12, but have tutored college students as well. Furthermore, I have a proven track record of success in supporting LGBTQ+ students, students with ADHD/ADD, and accelerated learners. I'm fortunate enough to have worked with students from all walks of life, and have a "whole child" teaching approach. I have a BS in Education from Kent State and a WA teaching certificate. On a personal note, I am an animal lover and adventure seeker. I can often be found playing recreational softball, or at the park with my pup. I'd love to learn about your needs so we can help you/your learner thrive academically and personally! References & copies of credentials available. Please note that I am a non-binary individual who uses they/them pronouns. Thank you!

Mallory is THE BEST! They have provided tutoring and childcare for our family for the last two years, starting when our kids were 6 & 10. They are now 8 &12. Mallory has an uncanny ability to connect with both of them--something no other childcare provider has ever been able to do. The kids routinely ask for Mallory's help with school work over getting help from me or my spouse because "they are much better at explaining things than you!" The kids also frequently ask when we are going on a date night, so they can hang out with Mallory. When we first hired Mallory, our kids were doing remote schooling due to COVID. Mallory supported their learning throughout the school day, making sure they were on-line when they needed to be, helped with academics and kept them engaged in developmentally appropriate enrichment activities during their downtime. Once the kids went back to school in-person, Mallory transitioned to picking them up from school and tutoring each of them one afternoon per week with whatever they needed help with. For my 2nd grader, they have focused on getting him caught up to grade level in reading and writing. For my middle schooler, it's math. After the work is done, they both look forward to playing games, going out for a treat or just talking with Mallory about whatever is going on in their lives. Mallory is super personable, reliable, never seems to get sick, and is an amazing communicator. They keep us up-to-date on how they are spending their time together, the progress they are making, and funny and cute stories of things that happen while they are all together. Mallory is super proactive, always having just the technique or worksheet to help the kids understand a concept they are working on, as well as coming up with plans for dinner and gathering the needed supplies, when I am out of ideas (or time!). We often talk about time in our family as "Before Mallory" and "After Mallory" and can't imagine going back to the Before Times. Mallory is so much more than a tutor or a nanny. She is part of our family.
