About Malia

I have been working in Elder Care for over 20 years, assisting in the care of a variety of seniors, from those with minimal needs to those with dementia, Alzheimer's disease and physical disabilities. I prepare meals, assist in feeding, bathing, transferring, taking to appointments, spending time outdoors, and running errands. I cater to the capabilities of each patient, looking for every way I can add to their quality of life, even if it is something as simple as turning the pages of a book or seeking out a comfort food. When agreed-upon in advance, I can work overtime and holidays. Several people were in my care for 4 to 6 years as, once I commit, the job only ends when they move on, or pass away. I view my patients as family, which, when combined with my experience, allows me to provide much more than basic care in what is often a challenging phase of life. While the task of providing care are many, my overall goal is to provide genuine warmth, respect and dignity .
