About Malena

I am currently looking for morning hours starting in April, with one child somewhere under 2. I have spent the last 2 1/2 years living with my grandparents and caring for them, as they are in their 90s. This included meal prep, light housework, and keeping them company hearing as many stories about their lives as I could. Before moving in and caring for them, I nannied throughout college and worked in outdoor education. I worked at Thorne Nature Experience, Kroka Expedition, and a Forrest School. This work entailed taking large groups of children on outdoor adventures, 6-11-year-olds on day trips, and 11 and up on week long expeditions in the backcountry. I am currently getting back into nannying smaller children, as I've moved onto a sailboat in Santa Barbara. I am passionate about outdoor adventure and creative expression. My goals with kids (and people in general) is to encourage curiosity through play.
