About Makiyah

Hello! I am a patient and engaging educator with more than 7 years' experience caring for and instructing children. I recently graduated from college with a degree in psychology with an emphasis on child development. I'm planning to obtain a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction within the next 2 years. I specialize in systematic phonics-based instruction, with a passion for instructing Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten. I have 8 years of experience teaching swim lessons, and coaching gymnastics. I love to teach, but understand the importance of balance. I'm a nanny that loves to take the children to fun experiences (Libraries, Parks, Museums, ect.) I hope to find a position where I can work with parents to create a safe, fun, and educational environment for the child!
