About Makenna

Hi, I'm Makenna! I am a certified and licensed elementary school teacher offering tutoring services! I have 13+ years of childcare experience and 6+ years of tutoring/teaching experience. I specialize in tutoring students in the primary grade levels (K-3). I am trained and have experience teaching all subjects, but I have a strong passion and background in teaching students how to read, especially if they are struggling with reading concepts. I have experience teaching/tutoring in schools, daycares, private homes, and tutoring companies (Kumon and Eye Level Learning). I love helping children gain confidence in their learning. I provide patience, support, learning strategies, content knowledge, and opportunities for productive struggle. Through my tutoring and teaching practices, I have helped many struggling learners gain independence, confidence, knowledge, and improve their test scores/grades.
