Wow. Just wow. Make sure you read until the end. We were very disappointed in Makenna's inappropriate and extremely unprofessional behavior. We hired Makenna as a nanny on a trial basis but let her know we wanted to make sure it was a mutual fit before bringing her on full-time. Almost every day Makenna had an issue that made us reluctant to hire her full-time. Example: Day 1: she was late Day 2: she was sick Day 3: her boyfriend hurt his hand Day 4: she had to leave early and on and on..... During our 3 weeks experience, we were not able to make it a full week without Makenna having some issue with being dependable. Meanwhile, Makenna was constantly texting us while we were trying to work and pressuring us to bring her on full-time. She wanted to quit her daycare job and go full-time as our nanny but she was so inconsistent we didn't feel comfortable. She allegedly hated her job at the daycare. We knew Makenna had never worked as a nanny but our daughter liked her so we overlooked her inexperience which was a bad decision. Before we hired Makenna we gave her a list of the items that would be needed as part of the job that included emptying the dishwasher and laying out the baby's clothes at night. Everything that was asked was in line with the chores needed as the baby's caretaker. She told us she had no problem with the list but once she started working for us she would text us and attempt to lecture US on what a nanny's job entails! The texts she would send us were not professional and were very confrontational. She was so uneducated on what it meant to work full time and work as a nanny it was shocking. She even text us and said, "How am I supposed to go to my own appointments when I am working all day?" We finally had to fire Makenna when we caught her ON CAMERA trash-talking our family, in our own house, while we were paying her!!! The cameras even caught her scheduling a personal appointment for the very next day a time when she was supposed to be working!!! She was planning on not showing up or calling in sick the next day. We let Makenna know we had been nothing but nice to her and that her actions we not appropriate or professional. We asked her to leave immediately and paid her for her time.
