About Makaya

Hello! I am a college student looking for part-time work in the San Diego area. I love kids and have great experience with them as a full time nanny, summer camp counselor, babysitter, (and as a big sister). I would describe myself as intuitive, patient, and playful with children. My greatest skill with kids is my ability to bond with them quickly. Through summer camp I've learned how to make relationships with children and many of my babysitting jobs were through children going home telling their parents I was "the best camp counselor ever." I spent a gap year post high school nannying for a family in Philadelphia. I am creative and able to find ways to entertain children and create unique ways to get them through mundane tasks, such as cleaning their room or eating a meal. I also find myself to be able to help children through their emotions and help them describe what they're feeling and create solutions to problems they may face.
