Hello! I'm a current Montessori assistant teacher looking to switch to a home-based nanny job. I've fulfilled many roles with various groups of children (9 mos. to 11 years) in solo positions as well as in co-guide teams. I've especially enjoyed connecting with one 9-month-old student as she transitioned from one-on-one care to our program's daycare. I really loved these experiences that focused on spending more time with infants and toddlers as they explore the world through experiences like food prep and outdoor activities within safe, age-appropriate limits. I have the most experience with children ages 6-9. I love to explore nature, craft, do science experiments, bike, sled, and cook with this age group. I'm looking for a tight-knit family environment where I can use my positive discipline skills (Love and Logic) to provide quality childcare. We hired Makaela to take care of our 19 month old daughter while we were in town for a month, and she truly made our trip. She is kind, caring, thoughtful, and a self-starter. Before we even arrived, she scoped out activities for our daughter so they could spend time outside of the house. Makaela was so thoughtful in how she spent time with our daughter, and we always knew she was receiving the very best care. We truly cannot say enough good things about Makaela and really wish she could be with us full-time! Do not pass her up!!
