About Maija

I'd describe my personality as fun, empathetic, and nurturing. I like working with kids because I feel that it is very rewarding and meaningful, despite being challenging at times. I recently graduated from NMU and am looking for meaningful work as I transition into degree related work and apply for graduate schools. I have always enjoyed working with kids of all ages. Most recently, I was working the NMU kids camp/tween camp this past summer. I primarily worked with the older kids on field trips and outdoor adventures, though I helped a decent bit with the younger kids get kids as well. In my spare time, I like to hike, ski, climb, paint, read, and write. I am always up for learning new sports and new games. Some of my most notable skills would be my ability to entertain, problem solve, and respond to emergencies. Along with this I have the following certifications: CPR/first aid, Lifeguarding, and Wilderness First Responder/CPR.
