About Maguette

Maguette has worked with our family for the last two years as nanny to our children. She has been incredible in this role ever since she started with us in February 2023 when our daughter was just two months old. As a new mom at that time, I was so nervous about entrusting my daughter with anyone, but Maguette’s expertise and kindness immediately put me at ease. Since then and through the expansion of our family with our now seven-month-old son, Maguette has been an integral part of our family’s life, and we could not be more grateful. It is only because I have had a change to my own employment status that we must sadly end our time with Maguette. Maguette is amazingly creative, calm, and generous with our children. She always maintains her composure (which can be difficult when taking care of two children, aged two and under!) and interacts positively with the kids. She comes up with such fun games and is always ready to play make-believe, construct a tower of MagnaTiles, or create a Lego robot. She has helped to instill a love of reading with our children, and she makes a point of doing developmental activities tailored to our kids’ ages. When they were infants she would always show them black-and-white cards and do lots of tummy time. As our daughter became older, we joked that “Coach” Maguette was responsible for her reaching appropriate crawling and walking milestones. Now with my daughter, she goes on garden walks and leads her in arts and crafts. In all areas of our parenting, whether with sleep or feeding, Maguette has been a critical partner. She worked with us when our daughter refused to fall asleep in the crib and would only fall asleep in Maguette’s arms. She was flexible with feeding our children as infants with both pumped breastmilk and then formula, and as toddlers with both purées and whole, baby-led-weaning solids. She communicates any issues she notices with our kids but also keeps us in the loop on the fun achievements they’ve made each day. Maguette is the picture of reliability, and her unwavering presence in our lives has been critically important to our children’s thriving. She has looked after them with such gentle love and care these past two years, and we will miss her so much.
