In high school, I volunteered at my local church in a special needs classroom. After 3 years of being a shadow in classrooms, I was awarded my own classroom. All of the kids were non-verbal and I had total responsibility of tending to their needs. I also have many years of experience of babysitting children with special needs. I also am CPR certified as I was a lifeguard in the summers for three years. I am currently in the STEP program at Adelphi University where I am earning a Master's in Childhood Education.
