I highly recommend Magdalena (Megie) D. as a nanny. She has been caring for our 5-year-old twins (a boy and a girl) for 3 years (August, 2008-August, 2011). Megie is bright, reliable, and affectionate. She is also well-versed in child development, both due to experience with other nanny jobs and a natural affinity toward children. She relates to our children in such a delightful way, turning practically everything into a fun game. Megie knows how to structure time well, but is also very flexible. She is as comfortable helping our children through a school work, such a practicing their letters and she is always teaching the children things like days of the week, colors, numbers and manners. She is also gentle, but enforces discipline. The children listen and respect her. Megie is an upbeat, helpful person and goes out of her way to accommodate our schedules and needs. She is never late and missed only one day of work in the 3 years she worked for us, which was due to the kids passing along the dreaded stomach flu. We feel fortunate to have had Megie in our home. We are convinced that our children owe much of their positive development to her presence. Her approach complements our parenting well, as she respects our personal philosophies while being confident enough to independently make day-to-day decisions. In addition to taking care of our children, she has been taking care of our laundry. We always had clean clothes and they were professionally folded.
