About Madison

Hi there! My name is Maddie, and I'm a Creative Writing major at the University of Central Florida. I've been tutoring college-level psychology classes for a year, but I discovered a love of working with children while hosting birthday parties at All Fired Up, a pottery studio in Winter Park. I realized I have a real knack for teaching and communicating with kids in effective ways, encouraging creativity and self-expression while also setting and explaining reasonable boundaries, elaborating on concepts for deeper understanding while encouraging them to get excited about learning. I am especially knowledgeable in elementary, middle, and high school English, science, and some math. My goal as a tutor is for my students not to need me anymore, to give them the tools, motivation, and confidence to take the reigns. I care a lot about my community, about people, children, animals, and the environment, and I want to give back and be a source of positivity and kindness wherever I go.
