I grew up assisting my brother, who is mentally disabled, and I never viewed his handicap as an impeding part of life, but a means to working through his struggles and learning as we go. I have helped in church programs ranging from young adults to small children with special needs. I have always had a passion for special needs, and I love my brother very much for the many lessons he has taught me. I can care for both physically and mentally disabled children and young adults. I believe it is important to give them an environment of love and acceptance along with the encouragement to do the best they can. I have lots of experience, but I am open and eager to learn much more of how I can care for children with special needs. I would be thrilled to work for your family and become a friend, mentor and helper to your son or daughter.
