My experience with working with special needs students started in my school's peer to peer connection program, which pairs qualified volunteer students with students on the autism spectrum. This program works with their student in the classroom to help them succeed academically, while also forming friendships with other students. After this, I began volunteering occasionally in a special needs kindergarten classroom. I'm passionate about helping special needs kids because I've seen how happy and joyous these kids get when they achieve something they've worked hard for and I want to work to make sure they have that same feeling as often as possible. I've been told I have the extra patience and compassion required to work with special needs students and I would love to put those skills to use and assist your family.
