About Madeleine

I believe it is so important to support children's' social, emotional, and physical development and well-being. After working for years in academia and spending some time in an ecology PhD program, I decided about one year ago that my passions lie in early childhood education. I am currently a lead teacher at Campus View Child Care Center where I care for eight children ages 9 to 18 months. Compassionate, patient, and playful, I communicate openly with parents, and work to ensure the needs of children and families are met. As a daycare teacher, I am adept at tending to basic needs, and I know how important it is to be on the floor, actively observing and engaging with children. My philosophy is that young children are healthiest when they are allowed to move freely and explore without screens or distractions and that play is fundamental for learning and development. I am CPR and First Aid Certified and am comfortable caring for up to three children from birth to three years!
