About Maddie

I'm a private tutor for middle & high school students, particularly in math & science. I graduated from UCLA in 2020 with a B. S. in Climate Science, & worked in an atmospheric spectroscopy research lab. Now, I work as a grant writer at a climate policy non-profit, & I tutor part-time because I'm passionate about building a curious, critical, & empowered future generation. I believe that tutoring can make a world of difference for students in many circumstances, and take pride in offering holistic, individualized support so that students have a positive learning experience. I want to help students not only succeed in school, but in their own growth and development. I figure out who my students are as learners, & help them not only succeed in the short term, but also cultivate self-awareness, confidence, & good habits for future success. I've worked with continuing students as well on test prep, & even helped one woman improve her GMAT score by over 100 points.
