I am an experienced nanny in NYC who has worked with multiple children who have special needs. Specifically, I have worked with children who have sensory processing issues, speech impediments, a Twice Exceptional diagnosis, and children on the Autism spectrum. In addition to my childcare work, I have volunteered with special needs children and teenagers since I was very young, because my mother has been a special educator for over 25 years, specializing in the autism spectrum. When I work for families whose children have special needs, I make it a point to communicate clearly with parents, teachers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, classroom aides, and anyone else involved in the child's life so that we can all work as a united team.
