Working with children who have special needs has always been a passion of mine! I worked for the YMCA summer program, as well as the before and after school program for 3 years in high school. I was typically matched with a child who had special needs, and I would work one on one with them for the majority of my time spent working at the YMCA. I am also studying to be a speech language pathologist, and I am currently a junior at the University of Kansas. Along with my speech language pathology background, I have also taken a substantial amount of courses regarding audiology, child psychology, and cognitive disorders. Along with obtaining a degree in speech language pathology, my goal is to also put a focus on working with children or adults who have a variety of special needs!
