About Mackenzie

I majored in Human Development and Family Studies at Texas Tech University, with a double minor in ASL and ADRS. Through my education, I worked in child care centers serving children from 6wks old to middle school. Since graduating, I have been working at Texas Girls and Boys Ranch, serving in their equine therapy program. This program has allowed to take on a teaching and mentorship role for children of all ages, and I really enjoyed planning activities and watching the kids grow in confidence and capability. I was also a foster parent for over a year to more than a dozen children, one of whom became my oldest son. I am extremely proud that 100% of the children who left our home reported that they wanted to move back into our house again if they ever came back into care. I love being active and advancing age appropriate life skills. I believe in creating a structure that fits the needs of the family, and saying what I mean and meaning what I say.
