About Mackenzie

Hello! My name is Mackenzie S. I started nannying and babysitting when I was 13 for family friends and quickly grew a passion for working with children. I was a long-term nanny for two families throughout high school, was a one-on-one camp counselor for two adaptive youth camps, and worked at a mother & child center in Portland, Oregon during my undergraduate education. I grew up with a brother with a physical disability, so caregiving has always been an integral part of my life. Though I enjoy working with children of all abilities, I have special qualifications in working with mentally and physically disabled youth. I know how to properly use a g-tube, handle mobility equipment and provide emotional support for children with autism, anxiety and other learning disabilities. In my free time I enjoy spending time outside, climbing, backpacking, meditating, art, and yoga and I'd love to integrate the things I'm passionate about with a family that shares similar values.
