In the last year, I have had the opportunity to support a family with a child with special needs and would love to continue this type of work after my relocation to the Carson area. This position has provided me experience with a multitude of areas while collaborating with OT, PT and speech therapists, as well as, music and horse therapy, too! I am very patient, willing to work through any behavioral challenges, reporting to the family important details of the day and communicating to provide consistency for the child. My approach includes some ABA techniques (although not certified) and developing towards goals using music, games, and various activities to the child's preferred motivation. I am fluent in ASL and happy to use signing or prompting vocalization for speech. I love to make up songs to facilitate engagement. I use my creativity to limit screen time as much as possible, with collaboration to the family as their preferences for this topic.
