About Luke

Luke is an accomplished professional musician and educator based in New York, NY. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in double bass performance at Northwestern University in 2021 and went on to earn his Master's Degree from Southern Methodist University in 2023. During his studies, Luke also taught numerous students at schools all over North Texas. As a professional double bassist, Luke has performed with prestigious ensembles, including the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and with the Houston Symphony on a one-year contract. Drawing on his own studies with leading professors in the collegiate world, Luke has developed a teaching philosophy centered on cultivating focus, adapting teaching strategies to each student's unique strengths and weaknesses, and discovering joy in the learning process. Luke looks forward to working with students who are eager to learn and grow.
