Hi, I'm Lucas! I graduated from Portland State University in 2019 with two BA degrees in Spanish and Applied Linguistics. I specialize in teaching grammar and phonetics, and incorporate real-life examples of the language in fun ways (memes, videos, songs, etc.) whenever possible. I also have a passion for exploring the cultural and linguistic differences across Spanish speaking countries, and have spent time living abroad in Spain and Colombia I have 8 years of experience as a paid tutor, and have worked with students from 8 to 75 years old! I'm comfortable working in-person or online, and always strive to customize each lesson to best fit the individual needs of my students. Whether you're planning a vacation and want to know some basic phrases, or if you need to pass a Spanish course at school, I am happy to help you meet your goals!

I met Lucas through a Spanish class I took and we instantly clicked. He became my note-taker because of my disabilities. From day 1 Lucas had a deep love for Spanish and helping others learn it. He was a responsible note-taker with great understanding for the language and so I turned to him for extra help in expanding my knowledge of the language. After he helped me get good grades in class, I turned to Lucas for additional guidance and learning, and it’s one of the best choices I have ever made for my cultural and educational journey. He is kind, patient, and compassionate about Spanish. He accommodates lessons to the students, needs, wants, and disabilities while acting as a source of inspiration to learn more and more each lesson. Every time I finish a section with him, I leave with a smile on my face and significantly increased knowledge. He is in fact one of the best tutors I have ever had. He is highly educated in several languages and in knowing how to teach it. Five stars indeed for him.
