About Lucas

I worked in schools for 10 years as a licensed teacher, teaching students with orthopedic, cognitive, speech, and developmental disabilities. I am autistic, as well as ADHD, and my experience as a neurodivergent adult informs my teaching and coaching practice. I can support clients through direct instruction, parent/family coaching, or a combination. My favorite part of working with clients is to support them towards learning their "next meaningful thing." Sometimes this means building communication or literacy skills. Other times it means supporting clients to direct their own schedule or to use assistive technology to access their favorite videos online. Whatever the next meaningful thing is for clients, that's what I'm here for! My core values: -Everyone has the right to autonomy, dignity, and self-determination. -Communication comes first. -Presume potential (or competence). -Literacy is a life skill.
