I am a certified nursing assistant and home healthcare provider. I have been a CNA 20 years. After taking care of my mother for so many years for this has given me the incentive to become a CNA. I was a caregiver to a patient for 10 years or more. I took care of my patient from when he was walking until he was bed bound and wheelchair-bound. His daughter worked in New York. As he progressed with his dementia is daughter took a leave of absence. I would stay for a week day and night and then His daughter would come for a week and stay seven days and this went on for two years eventually she retired and took care of her father. I get no greater joy to see my patients enjoying me as much as I am enjoying them. I treat my patients with respect and dignity.
