My husband and I owned and operated a small and successful guesthouse on Culebra Island, Puerto Rico. While there, I was deeply involved with federal non-profit work and grant writing for the community library, private school, and animal rescue group; I was Board President of Friends of Culebra Animals, Inc., and helped to rescue and re-home 160 dogs and cats in 2 years. I am not afraid to work hard or get dirty! I was intimately involved with running every aspect of our guesthouse, Guesthouse, cleaning, overseeing cleaning staff, marketing, finances, ordering supplies, offering personal tours to our guests, social media, and more. I consider myself to be flexible, patient, a good listener, caring, and I have a "let's get this done" attitude. I have always believed that a great leader gets in the trenches with their staff to accomplish goals. I get in the trenches. Besides enjoying working with people, I enjoy animals.
