About Lisa

This is a recommendation for Lisa Y., who has worked with our family for almost a year beginning in September 2013 and ending in May 2014. Lisa came to work with us when I was in the process of returning to full-time work after having my second child. She cared for my daughter (7) and son (2) every day for several hours after school and many times on weekends and over school vacations. As soon as I met Lisa, her kindness, intelligence and deep respect for children were obvious. An important requirement of the job was that Lisa learn and adapt quickly, make decisions on her own, and basically take over much of my role. She did this seamlessly, and I felt absolutely confident in her ability to perform all aspects of her job very well from very early on. Lisa has a lovely combination of flexibility, consistency, independence and willingness to take direction, and was able to make independent decisions about our children's care when we were at work. She is extremely reliable, consistent and has an extraordinary work ethic; throughout the year, she never declined a request to work adjusted or extra hours.
