Experience: 10 yrs
Hello Families! After receiving my bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in elementary education, I spent over 10 years as an elementary teacher (2nd-4th grade). While teaching, I also obtained my Masters of Education degree in experiential and adventure based learning. After having our first son (T 2 1/2), I made the decision to take a step away from the classroom to have more time with him and focus my skills and experience in a more individualized setting. Over the past two years, I have had the pleasure of nannying for an amazing family (who will be moving in May, which is why I am on the search). My husband, two boys (T 2 1/2, H 10 months), and I live in Holmen, WI. We love to be outdoors, explore, go on walks, bake, get creative with art and music, and more! If you are in search of childcare in the Holmen area, I would love to talk more. Thanks!

Lisa was the best childcare our family could have hoped for. She cared for my kids just as well (if not better) than I would. She started nannying for us when our first born was 3 months old up until 2 years old and then also helped with our 2nd child when he was around 4 months old. My husband and I both worked at the hospital and had very early mornings. We needed someone reliable and flexible as our schedules were always changing. Not only did daycares not open early enough for us, but we were also hesitant to send our kids knowing that if they got sick they would not be able to go to daycare and we would not have childcare coverage. Having Lisa was great because she gave us reliability along with the ease of having someone come to our house. This made mornings very easy as we didn't need to wake our kid and do daycare drop off. Lisa also had 2 kids that were the same age as mine and this was great because then they got to interact, play, and learn from each other while still being carefully looked after- so we got a nanny but also a buddy for our kid too. When my kid was around one year old we started having Lisa rotate between watching him at our house or picking him up in the morning and bringing him to her house. She had an awesome set up in her living room as well as downstairs that our child just loved. This allowed my child to get out of the house and into a new environment. Her neighborhood was also very quiet, safe, had a walking path, and a big playground. Lisa was a teacher for 10 years and so she followed a "schedule" for the kids. She included art time, structured play time, reading time, unstructured playtime, and (weather permitting) outdoor time. We would enroll our kids in the same YMCA programs and she was able to take them during the day which was great during those cold winter months. The only reason we will be parting ways with Lisa was because my husband and I took jobs out of the state and so for obvious reasons she wouldn't be able to watch our kids anymore.
