About Lisa

I'd describe my personality as warm, funny, and supportive. I like tutoring because I love helping people to experience successful learning. Tutoring is more personal than classroom teaching, and allows the instructor to work closely to address each individual's strengths, goals, and needs. I love learning, and it's exciting to share that love with others--and hopefully pass it on to them. I love sharing "Eureka!" moments with students. I also love learning from my students! I started tutoring when I was in graduate school; I taught Freshman Composition, but also worked in the Writing Center. The latter allowed me to work closely with individuals to help them discover their own strengths and build upon them. I have tried to continue that relationship building/coaching mindset as a teacher. In my spare time, I love to be in my kayak! One thing you should know about me is that I am conscientious and responsible. I'd like families to know that they can always rely upon me.
