I am an upbeat, interactive, articulate, attentive, fun, and very nurturing woman who has over 10 years experience working as a nanny. I have also been employed as a Hatha Yoga instructor to 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th graders as part of an experimental remedial reading/writing art program. I genuinely enjoy engaging a child in safe, fun and creative play and learning via reading, singing and dancing, athletics, visiting libraries and museums, running around parks and playgrounds, crafts, stimulating games and puzzles that encourage mental & physical development, teaching baby sign language or fostering verbal skills through imaginary play & dress-up, yoga, and just lots of sweet, affectionate and cuddly time spent together. Sharing time and energy in the delightful and stimulating company of a child, as I create a supportive , positive, healthy and happy environment in which to laugh & learn, is my idea of a workday well spent! In numerous of the letters of recommendation included with my resume, are parents' descriptions of me as a mature, athletic, articulate, affectionate and very positive influence in a child's life. Having cared for numerous challenging children with special needs, I am quite able to be firm, yet loving as boundaries are set and maintained in a fun, happy and respectful manner. While working as a Hatha Yoga instructor to NYC's P. S. 124 & 126's 1st, 2nd, 4th & 5th graders as part of an experimental remedial reading/writing art program,, I developed my natural skills of being not only creative and firm, but patient, attentive, sensitive, athletic, articulate and very health/safety-conscious when it comes to the excellent and special care I enjoy giving to children. Their delightful and stimulating company, no matter what age, has always been an education and enlightenment for me over the 10 yr. nanny career I've worked in NYC. What a way to make a living! Engaging and exchanging time and energies with little ones {my experience is with 6 weeks. - 11 yrs. old } is so rewarding as I get to have my own life enriched and enhanced by their extraordinary curiosities, affections and rapid growth as I teach and model for them a strong, positive, cultured, healthy, self-confident, well-spoken, kind, engaged, artistic and creatively-adventurous woman. I have cared for children from Harlem to the Hamptons and am open to all 5 NYC boroughs and Westchester, as well as Path-reachable New Jersey.
