About Lisa

Hi, my name is Lisa. I am a 64 yr old, very active grandmother of 8. I have spent the last 6 years caring for family members, my sister who died of colon cancer, my mom, and my Dad and stepmom. I cared for my Dad for the last 3 years until he passed away this April. I was a medical assistant and also ran a lab as a phlebotomist for 12 years. Almost 98% of my patients were older adults. I loved hearing their stories, talking with them, and answering questions they had about their health. I also recently worked as a Covid tech in a long term care facility and loved getting to know the residents. As an older adult I see how you become "invisible" as you get older, I try to "see" and "hear" them, to let them know they are still valuable and that they matter. I have done just about everything when caring for my family members. Cleaning, shopping, picking up prescriptions, cooking, running errands, and some medical treatments.
