Linnea was a full-time aide in my Kindergarten classroom during the 22-23 school year and I absolutely can’t say enough wonderful things about her! She is so professional and personable at the same time, she was truly a godsend for both myself and the students this year. When working with my little 5 and 6 year olds, Ms. Thorne has the perfect balance of being a warm and loving role model while at the same time maintaining the behavioral expectations that I try to stay true to with my kiddos. To me as an educator and parent of young children, both qualities are so important in early childhood and not everyone has both! The students absolutely ADORED her and her sense of humor, they would ask about her constantly if there was a day here or there where she had to be out, but they also knew that she was going to hold them to our class expectations and rules. She was especially helpful and compassionate with some of the special needs children in my class, who loved her even more than the rest of the class if that’s even possible. Occasionally, she would also go and assist with both the younger TK students or the older students up to even 5th and 6th grade, and she was wonderful there as well so I’m sure she would thrive working with really any age group. Several times during the school year my school discussed cutting back on full-time aides and I fought to keep her with me every time because she is irreplaceable (and my school admin agreed with me)! I honestly don’t know what I’ll do without her next school year but I know she will be an amazing asset to any of the children or families she ends up working with!
