About Linnea

I am a medical student at UCSD School of Medicine in between my 2nd and 3rd year. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and have been in California for 10 years. My experience with childcare started in high school as a regular babysitter for 2 families. Soon I was a nanny for 3 kids ages 6 to 12 and 1 adorable Pomeranian. I was with this family for 3 years. During the summers I was their full time nanny, responsible for meals, carpool to and from activities and play dates, as well as some tutoring and trips to the park or zoo. I went to college at the University of San Diego, where I worked as a tutor and mentor for 2nd and 3rd graders at Kit Carson Elementary and at Montgomery Middle School. I also worked at the Bay Side Community Center garden for 2 years. Now, as a medical student, I volunteer with youth programs, including Mini Med School, UCSD SOM Doc-for-a-Day, and a Mental Health Roundtable with student leaders from the SWEAR organization.
