I recently moved to Chicago to be closer to friends and am eager to start work in my new community. My background includes teaching at the high school and college level, so tutoring comes easily for me. But I am also a caregiver - for both humans and fur babies. Growing up in a large family (my father had 12 siblings), over the years I would set aside time to care for family members when they fell ill: driving to appointments, managing their accounts, hiring additional help, preparing their meals, etc. My experience includes those with Alzheimer's, dementia, diabetes and Parkinson's. (And I can cook, too!) In addition, I also cared for a 99-year-old stranger I found hitchhiking on the side of the road. Because he had no family, I eventually became his legal representative and cared for him until he passed. As a pet owner, I have been mommy to several fur babies, including a diabetic cat who lived to be 18. I look forward to helping you.

Lily worked for us for close to a year, helping take care of my father in his home. In addition to being a wonderful companion to him, she helped manage his medication, drove him to medical appointments, made sure he always had something healthy to eat, and much, much more. Lily is far more than your typical in-home caregiver, for she truly became an extension of our family. She was not only my father's advocate during his doctors appointments and hospital visits, but consistently displayed a level of care giving that is quite rare today. As I live in a different state, I relied on Lily to deal with his doctors as if it was me, always being his advocate and making sure he was getting the care he needed. I would highly recommend Lily for any position that requires a good-hearted, responsible, and caring individual that always puts the client's needs in front of her own. She is truly one of a kind.
