I enjoy working with kids, and I strongly believe that this is my calling/purpose in life - to give back to the better good of humanity! I am a former Au pair and my experience has grown from being a live-in nanny, to working with kids that have disabilities and special needs, to homeschooling and tutoring! I've gained many tools through these experiences to assist me in pursuing my long term goals, i. e. opening up my own day care school in a couple of years. I am stern but, fun and goofy with my kids and I believe that consistency and communication is key. I love bringing my passion for art and music into my kids lives and some of my hobbies/interests include surfing, gardening, playing the piano, yoga and unwinding on the beach to a good book! I am hoping to find a few families to facilitate a distance learning pod, and provide services for after school care, either from my home or theirs. I placed an ad on Care.com seeking a dependable, mature individual willing to take care of my 6 yo boy and 8 yo girl. My daughter has ADHD/anxiety/ODD and can be a handful. Lerissa jumped right in and formed a close, effective bond with her. She even had both kids doing a bit of academic work each day! Lerissa is kind, responsible and punctual. She faces challenges head-on and does whatever she can to be helpful to the family. We are so lucky to have found her!
