I've been in the Childcare field for over 15 years. I currently work at a daycare facility, and have lots of experience working with children with special needs. Currently, one of my children in my class is autistic. Because it can be hard for him to do the normal things that we often take for granted, I work with him one on one to make it easier for him to complete tasks and enjoy just being a child. When he first arrived at our facility, he didn't speak, and was very isolated. Now a year later, he not only uses sign language to communicate but he does use words as well and uses parallel play to interact with the other children. Just by implementing certain techniques, having patience and understanding, taking the time to really work one on one with him made all the difference. I truly enjoy watching kids blossom and learn new things.

Leota is very reliable, responsible, caring, and honestly loves what she does. For some childcare providers, taking care of children is just a job for Leota it's her passion. The patience, understanding, and love she has when she works is second to none. I'm happy she decided to finish obtaining her degree in early childhood, this is the type of person you want to have your children around to learn from. I meet her through a family member and have known her for over 15 years, she's worked alongside me and has even taught me a thing or two.
