About Lena

From growing up with dogs & cats, to volunteering at the SPCA in high school, to working as both a sitter & a kennel technician, I've always been around animals. At the SPCA, I volunteered with the cats, splitting my time between kittens and adults so everyone got some attention. In college I started offering walks & drop-ins, but have since expanded to also offering house sitting & boarding. Kennels I've worked at have done daycare, boarding (both dogs & cats) and training. I've gained additional dog training experience through an internship at a training & breeding facility, where I was handling & training various working &/or sport dogs (service, SAR, detection, etc.). In addition to hands-on experience, I've studied psychology at an undergraduate level with plans to get a Masters in Animal Behavior (or similar). I utilize relationship-based training, primarily using positive reinforcement (R+) methods. My specialties are basic & advanced obedience, anxious dogs, and service dogs.
