I have 8 years of paid experience in the health and medical field, along with over 11 years of paid experience caring for elderly loved ones. I have specialized in heart and cancer patients. My daily duties consisted of companionship, dementia care, managing medications, bathing, wound treatment, bathing, changing clothing, assistance with walking and transportation to and from medical appointments. I am very compassionate and patient and care deeply for my clients as if they were my own family. I have personally experienced the toll that an aging or ill loved one takes on the family that is providing care. Sometimes my job consisted of just being there to provide a brief break for the family caregiver as this is such a necessary part of being able to provide extensive care.
