I have a good deal of experience taking care of seniors. My grandmother is 92 and over the years my family has gone on rotation taking care of her. It is difficult for her to be alone and day to day tasks have become very difficult. I have seen how much it means to her to have someone by her side. Most of the time we simply talk, play cards, or I listen to her lifetime full of stories. I am sad when I leave her because I know she does not like to be alone. With that being said, I have a heart for the elderly because I have seen my grandmother go through the process of getting older and slowing down. I also enjoy being with seniors because they have a lifetime of experience and stories. I enjoy their character (even at their most difficult times) and can say that it is never easy, but it can be made more enjoyable by having special and caring people by your side.
