About Laurie

I'd describe my personality as patient, friendly, happy dependable and responsible. I like caring for seniors because I enjoy helping people and I enjoy building relationships with people. Seniors have so much to offer and I love listening to all of the stories and experiences they have. I enjoy providing companionship. I'm looking for a job that is flexible and works around driving my kids to school. I started caring for seniors when my mom's friend needed support with driving and light house cleaning, but was otherwise completely independent. As the dementia progressed, she became completely dependent and needed assistance with all parts of her life. I became a vital part of her care and stability as she stopped making new memories. Family was not close by, and I became the one to run the house, shop, fill medications, administer insulin, etc. In my spare time, I like to play cards and spend time with my family. My skills include bathing, preparing meals and light cleaning.
