About Lauren

I'm an active animal lover and have been pet-sitting for over 10 years. I have a number of pet-sitting clients in the Huntington and Oyster Bay areas and love spending my time with the animals I watch. Outside of pet-sitting, my full-time job is as the Hospital Supervisor for a non-profit wildlife hospital where I oversee the care of over 1, 000 animals every year. I make my schedule which allows me to work around my animal care taking jobs. I am very experienced in administering medications (oral, subcutaneous fluids and injections for insulin and other medications) and am comfortable in caring for animals with medical conditions. My husband and I share our loving home with two dogs, three cats and four house rabbits. Our dogs are both medium sized mixed breeds rescued from the South. Two of our cats have special needs with diabetes and a urinary tract condition. These conditions require us to be extremely conscientious in monitoring their health and care and we devote that same attention to our client's beloved pets. In addition to vacation sitting, daily visits and walking, we are able to provide boarding at our home (with a fully fenced yard) to cat-friendly dogs (one at a time) and can provide boarding for small pets in a separate room in our quiet downstairs.
