Hi! My name is Lauren, and I'm looking to start babysitting/nannying around July 1st this summer, up to 20 hours per week with flexible availability. As a certified paraprofessional in New Jersey, I have experience working with kiddos with neuro developmental and behavioral challenges. Additionally, I've worked part time for the last year at Children's National Medical center while finishing my degree in Neurobiology/Physiology at the University of Maryland. My position there as an Emergency Medical Tech Specialist includes pediatric BLS/CPR, neonatal resuscitation, trauma and burn care, and more. I have 2 years of 911 experience as a National Registry/Maryland EMT, so I am no stranger to life's unexpected emergencies. Whether that be a stuffy nose, asthma attack or broken bone, I can assure you I've seen it all. I love working with kids and plan to commit my career to becoming a pediatrician. Please reach out to inquire about any additional information, certifications or experience.

I have gotten to know Lauren as a substitute paraprofessional for the past 3 years. My primary interactions with Lauren has been in my classroom with 3 and 4 year old special needs children. Lauren has seamlessly integrated herself in to my classroom. Lauren’s patience, compassion, and love of children is evident through her interactions with the children. Lauren has paired well with some of our most developmentally challenging students, with whom she quickly forms strong bonds. Lauren actively engages with the students and becomes part of the classroom, following her teacher’s directives and prompts. Through demonstration and modeling, Lauren encourages the students’ fine and gross motor skills, in a way that seems fun to the students. Lauren encourages the students’ independence and social and emotional learning. Her patience in caring for these special needs students is evident through her compassionate nature. I have often observed Lauren interacting with the students at recess, Lauren ensures students safety while the students are enjoying unstructured fun time.
