About Lauren

I have been caring for children since I was a adolescent. Growing up in a large extended family, I often babysat my younger cousins and now I occasionally watch over my cousins' children, who range in age from 6 months to 10 years old. My grandmother has also ran a daycare my entire life, so I spent much of my formative years in that environment learning to take care of children. I gained further experience working as a nanny in college for a2-year-old boy (feeding, changing diapers, etc.). I also performed light housekeeping duties. Most recently, I ran a pilot after-school program for fourth and fifth graders. I developed the curriculum for the program, which focused on ocean science, and scheduled activities to both educate and entertain the students. The program culminated in a field trip to the New England Aquarium and was very successful. I enjoyed the experience very much and developed a better understanding of childcare.
