About Lauren

Hi there! My name is Lauren! I am a doctoral candidate at Columbia University and am currently writing a dissertation about Afrofuturism. I'm looking to earn a little money to support my modest doctoral stipend. I have 3 years of experience teaching at the collegiate level, and have several years of experience working with high school and elementary school students. I can help with Reading Skills, English, and Music, and I am also a cellist with over 10 years of experience who can offer private lessons. In my work as an educator I endeavor to keep learning fun and engaging, tailoring my teaching style to the individual needs of those students I work with. I believe learning is best achieved when a passionate and patient instructor fosters an inclusive, exciting, and fun environment in any space in which they work. I look forward to working with all kinds of students!
