About Laurel

Hello, my name is Laurel! I have my master's degree in Early Childhood Education, and I love working with kids! I have years of professional experience as a long-term nanny, preschool teacher, drama teacher, and rock climbing instructor. I love play-based, exploratory learning and enjoy heading outside in all types of weather. I love to play, sing, dance, and read with kids while still providing lots and lots of time for unstructured child-led play! I am great at involving kids in daily life activities like food prep and self-care. I am punctual, organized, and energetic. I am a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator and interact with kids in kind and respectful ways. I favor enforcing limits and finding solutions. I help children be most successful by making changes to the environment.
