Hello, my name is Laurel and at this point, I am only looking for an occasional weekend position. I currently work as a professional nanny and have been nannying for a total of 9 years. I have been working with children in many different capacities for 20+ years, 11 of which were with people with various disabilities fitting under the moderate to severe umbrella. I have extensive experience with children (and adults) with deaf-blindness, communication disorders, Autism, Down Syndrome, genetic disorders, behavioral disorders, mobility challenges, etc., the list goes on. ASL proficiency. I have a passion for working with people with disabilities. I believe that everyone is capable of something and I love working with others (the child or adult) to prove people wrong. I am also a postpartum doula (in training) and lactation educator (in training) and in the future, I hope to specialize in families with a baby/babies or children with disabilities.
