About Laura

I am a nursing student who love working with children & families! Almost all my jobs have been in childcare; and each has given me opportunities to learn and develop my skills and love of working with children. From 2008-2009, I was a City Year Boston corp member. In 2009, I went to Simmons College and graduated, with a major is psychology and minor in sociology. After graduating from college I worked as a child development director with the YMCA. In this role I was responsible for implementing a curriculum to provide academic grown, social engagement, and healthy living for a program of 26 kids in East Boston and 150 kids in Roxbury, from ages 3-18. Later, I worked as a nanny for 2. 5 years. I am still so close with the family and their boys are the ring bearers in my upcoming wedding! For the past year, I have been in nursing school and I am graduating in August 2019. I am a certified nursing assistant, CPR/First-Aid trained, and have extensive pediatric care experience.
