About Laura

My name is Laura. I have been in the early education world for over 10 years. I began babysitting when I was 12. I graduated from Mizzou in May of 2021 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. While in college, I participated in the College of Education Honor Program, and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I completed my student teaching at The Atelier, a private preschool based in the Reggio Emilia philosophy. While there, I worked with all age groups, but spent an entire semester in the 2-3-year-old room. I also have field experience in both kindergarten and 2nd grade. For 2 years, I worked as a nanny for a family with a newborn and a 17-month-old. I then worked at the public library as a youth services associate. While I have the most experience with 2-3-year-olds, I have cared for children ranging from newborn to 13 years old. My philosophy is fundamentally based on respect for the child. I have extensive knowledge of best practices, conscious discipline, and responsive caregiving.
